Trainer William Haggas has revealed he wants to give Born With Pride a shot at Kempton’s Classic Trial on June 8.
Born With Pride managed to win on her sole start last year, beating Peaceful by a neck in the British Stallion Studs EBF Montrose Fillies’ Stakes at Newmarket back in November.
Connections are deliberating where to send the three-year-old to next, but Haggas already has a plan in mind after admitting the Classic Trial at Kempton’s rescheduled meeting on June 8 is his preferred target.
“I haven’t spoken to Mrs Tsui [owner] yet but I’m looking to run Born With Pride in the Classic Trial,” he told Luck on Sunday. “She’s very well-bred and a strong galloper. She’s always shown a bit at home and looked good at Newmarket.”
Victory in the Classic Trial, which would see Born With Pride step up to Grade 3 company for the first time, would only further enhance her claims for a title at the Investec Oaks on July 8.
Haggas’ charge is already seen as one of the leading contenders for the race at Epsom Downs.
