Dettori talks up ‘focused’ Enable

Frankie Dettori says Enable is ‘focused’ as she prepares for what could be her final run on British soil in Saturday’s September Stakes at Kempton.

The John Gosden-trained six-year-old was a winner of the Group Three race back in 2018 and she is not anticipated to have any issue replicating that feat this weekend, as she steps up her preparations for next month’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at ParisLongchamp where she will be targeting a hat-trick of victories.

Enable was last seen winning the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes for the third time at Ascot in July, with the victory also representing the 11th Group one success of her career.

Dettori has rode Enable to all of those successes and he believes the filly is perfectly prepared to not only win on Saturday, but also taste success in Paris for the third time on October 4.

“I rode her on Wednesday,” Dettori told Racing TV. “She just did a routine solo gallop and she feels up for it – if everything goes well we’ve got four weeks to the Arc and we’ll have a crack at it.

“She seems focused and just to get her in a horse box and to go racing – I know there’s no crowd, but it’s something different and gets her blood pumping and it gets her closer to being as good as we can for the Arc.”
